South Coast: Glacier hike, fire & ice with dinner at the Viking lodge
Yes, it is true! Everything you have heard about Iceland is true. We have elves, trolls, Santa Clause is from Iceland, we have the mighty gods Thor, Odinn & Freyja. Iceland is the home of the volcanoes as it was made by them, shaped by glaciers and water. The island far away in the North Atlantic Ocean, the island of fire and ice & the home of the Vikings.
South Coast of Iceland has everything Iceland has to offer. You get to see all the best places in one day and you also get to hike on top of Icelands 3rd largest glacier. Reykjavik Outventure is a small family owned operator with huge heart which creates high quality experiences for tourists. On this 11-12 hour Iceland South Coast tour you will be picked up from your hotel or closest bus stop( see bus stops ) in Reykjavik between 08:00 and 08:30 before you head on this journey to the land of volcanoes and ice.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall is the first stop. Seljalandsfoss is the waterfall of rainbow and unicorns. This is the waterfall with walking trail that leads behind it and on sunny days you can see a beautiful rainbow and if you are lucky, a unicorn sliding down.
Skógafoss waterfall is the second stop. This is the perfect waterfall. This is our favourite one in Iceland. There are absolutely no words to describe it. So the word that comes closest to it will be perfect.
Sólheimajökull Glacier hike is the next stop. This is the highlight without a doubt. Walking on a glacier with Icelands most powerful volcano lying underneath it. This is a surreal experience that everyone have to try. On top of it you will get hot chocolate and Icelandic pastry.
Reynisfjara or Black Sand Beach is the last stop before heading to the Viking lodge.
This is where Game of thrones was filmed and this is where the troll is out in the ocean towing 3 mast ship to shore. This is where you see the famous beautiful basaltic rocks in the mountain.
Ingólfsskáli Viking lodge is the stop to have dinner at. Have the grass fed free roaming lamb and wash it down with a beer brewed at this lodge. Can you be more of a Viking?
We sure hope to see you
